Aims and Objective
- To represent members of the Somali and education professionals involved in supporting education and lifelong learning
- To provide a forum where relevant issues can be discussed and disseminated
- To support the professional development of members through a program of meetings and events across the regions
- To ensure communication with members through the production of relevant publications and a discussion list
- To contribute to inform and respond to national initiatives concerning education, health and lifelong learning
- To encourage collaboration and exchanges of ideas amongst information professionals throughout the education sector through liaison with relevant Local Authority (LA), Special Interest Groups and related organizations
- To develop and sustain an international perspective through the establishment of links with relevant organisations overseas
- To provide neighbourhood based programs and activities aimed at ‘at risk’ young people and wider community with skills and motivation to become involved in their personal development and regeneration of local area
- Raising awareness about the importance of Somali cultural heritage is our main mission. We introduce schools and communities to traditional Somali forms of arts and crafts, culture and languages. We tackle ideas about difference and respect of other cultures amongst young people in a fun, friendly and supportive environment
- Help children in the UK and Somalia to complete school education
- To support children with their education all the way, from junior to senior school and beyond and maybe university education too
- To sponsor them through their schooling, giving them a good start in their lives
- To support them with pens, books, uniform and other essentials
- To concentrate mainly on children who have lost one or both parents, and looking specifically at schools with the greatest needs
- Promoting the Educational development of social and humanitarian sciences in Somalia
- Enhancing creative activity and Educational potential of the Somali society
- Disseminating humane principles in the areas of Art, Culture and education
- Promoting Integration, international cooperation in education and maintaining close links among Educationists
- Meeting School teachers and Parents
- Holding confidence building and motivation
- Holding extra English sessions
- Dealing with truancy and behavioural problems
- Organizing counseling sessions
- Supporting Somali children with learning difficulties
